A recent addition to the extensive portfolio of PTS services is the manufacture of panels; including control and protection relay panels, marshalling kiosks, pilot termination boxes, metering panels etc. Utilising a well appointed workshop facility in Hillington (Glasgow), PTS can define and supply our client’s complete requirements. All panels are fully tested to rigorous procedures before being delivered to site.

By discussing and understanding our client’s requirements, the PTS engineering department can define fully, the panels that are required. Starting with protection application, the system requirements are defined and agreed. Following this the overall panel layouts are produced and a complete panel specification put together, outlining the metalwork requirements and IP ratings along with relay and ancillary equipment specifications.
PTS then undertake the detailed scheme design as defined by the protection application drawings along with the panel wiring diagrams to enable the panels to be manufactured. If project requirements dictate, then the design can then go on to define the construction package enabling the panels to be integrated into the overall substation, along with co-ordination of all the relay system and protection parameters to be defined. |

INSTALLATION |

Utilising the vast experience of the panel wiremen within PTS, this has been transferred into the workshop to enable our most recent venture to take-off. Whether the client’s requirements are a simple metering box, bay marshalling kiosk or a complex control and protection panel, PTS can deliver. With the modern facilities that we have developed at our Hillington workshop and offices, PTS offer the highest levels of manufacture.
As all the relevant functions are in-house to PTS, this enables us to have more easily co-ordinated communications between the design and manufacturing elements resulting in a superior end product. Once the panels are completed and tested, these are delivered to the respective site to enable our client to continue with the site build. Alternatively, PTS installation teams can undertake this work and deliver a complete solution. |

COMMISSIONING |

Before any panel or kiosk leaves the factory, they undergo a rigorous set of tests to ensure that we deliver exactly what our clients require. Whether these tests are defined by the client or ourselves, we can ensure that each panel will meet our client’s specifications and requirements.
All quality assurance paperwork and test results are delivered with the panels so that the client has a complete set of information associated with the panels for their records. This also provides details for individual components within the panels to allow a fully auditable trail for the panels provided.
As with the installation works, once the panels are despatched for delivery, PTS can provide assistance in commissioning the units into the electrical system. |
