Welcome to the website of POWER TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS, an Electrical Engineering company providing a comprehensive range of engineering services to blue chip clients in the UK high voltage electrical power systems industries – including the major utilities/Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), heavy industrial users, major switchgear manufacturers and ESI approved contractors.
The company has experienced steady and continuous growth since it was established in 1999 by co-chairmen, Duncan Mansfield and Daniel Ferguson. Both draw upon comprehensive and extensive experience from working in the Royal Navy, Ministry of Defence, Nuclear and electrical engineering industries, working for such organisations as United Utilities, NG bailey, and Balfour Beatty.
The Senior Management team have a wide, varied and exciting mixture of skills and experience – which is unique in the industry. This mixture provides PTS with a unique selling point, the ability to deliver projects from conception right through to final acceptance and handover.
Today, PTS has a continuing brief to provide our clients with the very best in engineering consultancy, engineering design, construction, commissioning, and operational services, incorporating our commitment to the highest standards in Quality Management, Health & Safety and environmental practices - thus ensuring that our clients’ projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the required quality.
From our head office in Cheshire, England we have the structure and resource to provide our clients with engineering consultancy services, full turnkey solutions, to act as the Principal Contractor, or to work in conjunction with other engineering companies in an alliance, Joint Venture, or sub contract role. Our services can be offered on a fixed price contract or, alternatively, on a time and materials basis - our approach is designed to give our clients the maximum flexibility.
PTS also has an expanding bases of operation in the South of England, near London and in Glasgow, Scotland.

This emphasis has been highlighted by our success in the Sunday Times sponsored Best Small Companies to work for annual awards, where for 2006, 2007, and 2008 we have placed in the Top 20. This award is based upon opinions of employees, and the identification of best practice in the work place. Furthermore, each year has seen PTS achieve the Best Companies 3-star accreditation, the rating system is similar to Michelin-rated restaurants; where 1-star is first class, 2-star outstanding, with 3-star being extraordinary. Interestingly, we were only one of forty-two companies that entered to earn the 3-star accreditation and provides a glowing testament to the principles of continuous staff training and self improvement that has been instilled in the company by the directors.
